REPORTING TO PARENTS

Relationships between home and school are vital. Strong parent-teacher relationships provide teachers with the information they need to best support the learners in their class. Reporting formally, and informally, encourages communication and partnerships between home and school.

The purpose of formal reporting to parents is to show your child’s progress in reading, writing, and mathematics. We also report on your child’s social and emotional development in the school context as well as reporting across the wider New Zealand Curriculum areas; Science, The Arts, Social Sciences, Technology, and Health & PE.

Mid Year:  Parents interviews/student led Conference or 3 way Conferences where learning journeys are shared with whānau.

Tauira & kaiako are also able to speak to Progress and Achievement:

i.  Where the child is at.

ii. What the next learning steps will be.

iii. How whānau can help at home.

In November:  Written Reports.

Please note that teachers plan assessment and reporting matters when they plan for their respective school teaching programmes.  The data collected from these, and the daily learning outputs, achievements, successes and progress,  are recorded in this report form.
